A little about me!
I have been designing and creating cakes for 4 years since regaining my childhood love of baking and decided to make my sons birthday cake, the passion and knowledge of baking given to me by both my mother and grandmother both being German Master Bakers and Master Patissier. I have many memories with my mother in the kitchen, my fondest memories are from my birthdays, as a child waiting in anticipation to see what magnificent cake my mother bought out, this feeling of elation is what drives me, its the feeling I want to give to all my customers.
I have incorporated my Art and Design background and love of baking into a full-time career with my main passion in designing wedding cakes. I am a member of the British Sugarcraft Guild also being awarded a level 5 in hygiene certificate by Plymouth County Council for a registered food business.
Edible Essence designs and creates all their cakes in their newly purpose built kitchen/studio in the beautiful Devonshire village of Tamerton Foliot. They pride themselves on using only the finest ingredients including locally sourced Cornish farm butter, farm free range eggs, homemade conserves from Devon fruit farms and not forgetting the finest Belgium chocolate in every cake. To create their flawless smooth finish they use the innovative Australian decorating technique using indulgent creamy white chocolate ganache which ensures a perfect finish to each and every one of their cakes so it tastes as spectacular as it looks.
They offer a professional friendly and welcoming approach which means that you can discuss your vision of your perfect cake and you will work together until you are completely happy with your design. With a superior wedding service from your original consultation through to the delivery and setting up of your cake at the venue leaving you with a wedding cake as memorable as the day itself.
Jennifer is also very pleased to announce that Edible Essence Couture Cake Company has been awarded NATIONAL Wedding Cake Designer of the Year, 2017 of the prestigious The Wedding Industry Awards along with Winner of the South West Wedding Awards for Best Wedding cake Designer 2016. Edible Essence is also an official supplier for Rock My Wedding and their website received great recognition and awarded UK National Finalist in the Best Website Category for The Wedding Industry Awards 2016 and 2017.
Edible Essence has also recently been commissioned to design and make top celebrity couple Peter Andre and Emily Macdonagh's wedding cake which was featured in OK magazine and has also been appointed recommend supplier for a number of exclusive wedding venues in Devon and Cornwall.
